Gaucho is an Argentinian steakhouse chain based in the United Kingdom that opened a new 120-seat unit in Glasgow, Scotland. DesignLSM designed a fresh concept for the chain, one that speaks to the locale as well as an evolution for the brand itself. Gaucho Glasgow represents the chain’s passion for Argentina’s rich cultural and culinary heritage.

Dubbing itself Scotland’s first carbon-neutral steakhouse, Gaucho is committed to addressing the environmental impact of beef production, with an overall goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030. After a three-year study on the carbon impact of its beef production, Gaucho partnered with a charity outfit to start a reforestation program to offset its carbon footprint.

The design of the restaurant also reflects the chain’s commitment to sustainability, combining local elements with aesthetics inspired by Argentina’s forests. Featuring design elements that represent the spirited city of Buenos Aires, the distinctive wild Argentinian planes, and the urban landscape of Glasgow, the concept harmonizes these contrasting scenes while adding a spark of glamour to the Gaucho brand DNA.
