Grocery store staple Barilla announced plans to open two new fast-casual restaurants in Southern California in 2017 designed by Valerio Architects.
A 2,600-square-foot restaurant will open at South Coast Plaza in Orange County and an 1,800-square-foot restaurant will open at the University of Southern California’s USC Village. Both will feature Mediterranean-inspired menus with pasta, grains, fruit and vegetables.
Shared design elements include a “wheat wall” celebrating the origin of pasta, a kitchen visible to guests, and a display that highlights the menu’s ingredients.
Barilla also operates three locations in New York City.
