A whopping 56% of restaurant development + design readers surveyed in April say that labor and staffing represent the biggest challenge they face right now. Inflation was a distant second with just 23% of readers noting that was their biggest challenge.
Technology hurdles (5%) and regulations (5%) were other top concerns. Supply chain woes — which were a hot topic in the wake of the pandemic — were a top concern for just 4% of readers surveyed. The remaining 7% had a variety of concerns, with cash flow and construction costs cropping up as major issues.
