Q&A with Sheila Boyce, President, DeepStream Designs, Inc.
How important are outdoor dining aesthetics?
Sheila Boyce: To prospective customers, the planters, receptacles, service cabinets and other furniture outside your restaurant must meet their expectations about the food, service and cleanliness inside.
What are DeepStream Design’s options for the foodservice industry?
SB: DeepStream manufactures low maintenance, customizable planters, which can include integrated signage and windscreens and coordinating weatherproof service carts, host stands, POS stations, receptacles and other cabinets.
What sets these products apart?
SB: Our products are engineered to last for decades and are easy to clean and maintain. You only need to order and install them once. This allows you to move the cost from your maintenance expenses to your capital budget. Many of our customers are still using our products that were first installed more than 10 years ago.
What attributes make DeepStream’s lines not only look new over time, but also require minimal maintenance?
SB: Our planters and cabinets have a lifetime structural warranty because they start with an anodized aluminum structure that frames weatherproof materials, including 100% recycled plastic lumber planks. Other standard components are UV-stabilized plastic planter liners with advanced drainage options, 316 stainless steel countertops, casters and fasteners. The fixtures can safely be pressure-washed, and any damaged components can be replaced at cost when needed under our Core Replacement Program.
What should operators consider when outfitting outdoor spaces?
SB: You don’t have to settle for one-size-fits-all products. We work with our customers to determine the finish, sizes and features that fit their space to save labor and deliver better service at a lower cost.
