BACK OF THE HOUSE, a San Francisco-based restaurant group started by Adriano Paganini, plans to introduce new projects in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley and Marina districts, in addition to the expansion of existing concepts in the South Bay and East Bay. At least three new concepts are slated for 2016 — two full-service and an additional brand new fast casual— with Paganini setting his sights on other regions of the West Coast as well.

Created by Marriott Corp. in the late 1960s, Roy Rogers, the fast-food chain named for the affable singing cowboy-actor who rose to fame in the 1930s and ’40s, is proof that loyal fans and a committed brand champion can overcome tough odds. 

Denver-based Modern Market, which specializes in healthful, seasonal offerings, announced that it has completed its name change from its previous identity, Modmarket. The company announced the change as a result of a trademark dispute with another restaurant.

Total restaurant industry traffic for April through June was flat vs. the same period last year, according to a new report from The NPD Group. This marks the second consecutive quarter of no growth in industry traffic.
