Mama Hospitality has opened Mary Lou’s Miami, the third location of its supper club and nightlife concept, inside the W South Beach. The venue operates as a seasonal residency, occupying the former WALL lounge, which has been closed since 2020.
Mary Lou’s Miami is a collaboration between Mama Hospitality co-founders Joe Cervasio, Topher Grubb and Alex Melillo and Jamie Reuben of Reuben Brothers. The partnership was facilitated by Myles Shear of Palm Tree Crew. The project marks the first Miami location for the Palm Beach–based hospitality group, following openings in Palm Beach and Montauk, N.Y.
The Miami outpost reuses the existing footprint of WALL lounge, a former nightlife venue at W South Beach that previously hosted DJs and high-profile guests. Mama Hospitality retained the site’s role as a late-night venue while redesigning the interior to align with the Mary Lou’s brand.
Designer Jason Volenec led the interior reworking of the space. The design incorporates patterned wall coverings, animal prints and layered textures, drawing from the brand’s established visual language while referencing Miami Beach nightlife. The redesign emphasizes low lighting, dense materiality and flexible zones that accommodate dining, cocktails and dancing.
The Mary Lou’s concept is named for Mary Lou Curtis, the grandmother of co-founder Alex Melillo and a Palm Beach fashion retailer whose boutique, La Shack, operated for decades. Curtis’ personal style and approach to entertaining serve as the thematic reference point for the brand across locations.
In Miami, the venue introduces Mary Lou’s Society, a private membership program that offers preferred access and reservations. The group is also debuting Mary Lou’s Beach, a members-only beach setup adjacent to the hotel, featuring branded lounge chairs, towel service and food and beverage offerings.
Mary Lou’s Miami continues Mama Hospitality’s strategy of reopening or reprogramming existing nightlife spaces rather than developing new-build venues. The company’s earlier projects include the conversion of Berto’s Bait and Tackle in Palm Beach into the original Mary Lou’s location and the Montauk site at 474 West Lake Drive.
Mary Lou’s Miami is now operating at W South Beach as part of its seasonal residency.
