Located in Midtown Manhattan — no stranger to Italian restaurants — Alessa offers hearty Italian cooking across two floors spanning 6,500 square feet. Designed by White Noise Design Studio, the front of the space offers a lively bar for post-work happy hours while the main dining area offers an elegant but relaxed environment. There’s also a hidden lounge in the back with plush seating and low lighting. The variety of zones creates interest and intrigue, allowing diners to discover something new with repeat visits.

Lighting plays a big part in the restaurant’s ambience. From natural daylight to retro lighting fixtures, each element helps set the scene depending on the daypart. In the evening, strategically placed warm lighting highlights finishes and provides a cozy atmosphere.

Rich, tactile materials like brass, velvet and mosaic tiles mix with patterns to create a tapestry of visual delights.
