Open kitchens are no longer a must-have element in new restaurants.
Only 13% of restaurant development + design readers surveyed said they do not include open or partially open kitchens in their new restaurant or renovation projects. In contrast, 27% said they always include open or partially open kitchens.
The majority of respondents — 60% — said whether an open kitchen is part of the design depends on the space and the preferences of the operator.
