BONDST

Hudson Yards, New York City
This 7,160-square-foot Japanese restaurant, designed by Jeffrey Beers International — and one of the last restaurants Beers’ himself worked on before his untimely death in March — offers spectacular views and a serene environment amid the bustling Hudson Yards development.

This marks the second location for BONDST. The brand has had a popular outpost in the NoHo neighborhood for 25 years. The new location had to capture the brand in a fresh aesthetic.
The design provides a contemporary reimaging of the Japanese dining experience. The warm and welcoming vibe provides subtle nods to Japanese style, including custom-designed decorative light fixtures that evoke floating lanterns. The design strives to create the atmosphere of a secluded Japanese garden pavilion tucked away from its busy surroundings. Lush bamboo, white oak wood, and Japanese rice paper screens surround the guests, creating a serene oasis in a concrete jungle.
