Traveling Mercies is a new, intimate cocktail and oyster bar that recently opened in Denver.

Designed by chef Caroline Glover from Aurora, Colo.’s Annette and FAM Design, Traveling Mercies is inspired by the hole-in-the-wall spots Glover seeks out while traveling.

Warm, textural and welcoming, the space features hues of ochre, terra cotta and deep blue. Reminiscent of an ocean wave, a wood-slat ceiling serves as the focal point of the space. As with Glover’s flagship restaurant, Annette, family is a connective theme for Traveling Mercies. Two formative men in Glover’s life, her father-in-law and grandfather, helped inspire details of the concept, from artwork and branding to menu staples like Traveling Mercies’ signature martini. The art that adorns the walls, all created by Caroline’s grandfather, provides a personal touch creating the perfect cozy spot for customers to enjoy a cocktail and a sunset.
