Ono Hawaiian BBQ, a fast-casual restaurant specializing in Hawaiian plate lunches and other island specialties, has opened its 49th store.
The newest location is in Upland, Calif., the chain's second restaurant in that town.
This location measures about 2,000 square feet and has seating for 50. It is the first Ono restaurant to feature a new design showcasing rustic Hawaiian elements, including reclaimed wood walls, aquamarine porcelain tiles and tropical planters.
Ono has plans to open 14 additional units in the next two years. It currently operates exclusively in California and Arizona.
