Less than eight months after announcing a partnership with Ziosk to bring tabletop tablets to all company-owned restaurants, Chili's Grill & Bar has completed the largest rollout of tabletop tablets in the U.S., installing more than 45,000 tablets in 823 company-owned Chili's restaurants.

The installation was accomplished ahead of schedule, with up to 6,600 tablets brought online per day. By this fall, Chili's aims to have the tablets installed in all franchisee-owned units, as well.

The 7-inch tablets empower guests to browse the menu, order drinks and desserts, and quickly pay their checks. They also feature entertainment, including news and interactive games like zTrivia.

The company reports that on average, 80 percent of guests in restaurants that have them available use the tablets; more than 60 percent of credit card users pay their check through the system; users are 10 times more likely to enroll in a restaurant's loyalty program and are 20 to 30 times more likely to participate in a guest satisfaction survey.

"We've just begun to tap into the potential of Ziosk, giving Chili's guests the ability to take control of their dining experience like never before," said Wyman Roberts, CEO and president of Brinker International and president of Chili's. "Additionally, we're getting immediate, valuable feedback that helps us improve our performance."
