The Milton Inn, a historic building dating back to the 18th century, was reimagined into a cozy tavern and destination dining experience back in 2021. Today, The Milton Inn channels the rustic romance of a French hunting lodge, blending historic charm with contemporary elegance.
The Milton Inn occupies a restored fieldstone estate in the countryside of Sparks, Md. Originally a Quaker coach stop dating to 1740, the building has served variously as a schoolhouse (notorious alumni include John Wilkes Booth). It then served as an antique store before becoming a Baltimore County dining staple for more than 70 years.
Most recently, the Milton Inn underwent a restoration and reopened under new ownership in the summer of 2021. The inn was revived by the Foreman Wolf restaurant group. The restoration involved a complete renovation of the interior and a focus on a French-inspired menu and wine selection.
Foreman Wolf restaurateurs Tony Foreman and Cindy Wolf partnered with Chef Chris Scanga to craft two dining experiences at the inn.
The Dining Room at The Milton Inn offers a refined, multi-course pre-fixe menu set within elegant white-tablecloth spaces, complete with curated wine pairings from The Milton Inn's historic cellar. The Tavern features a relaxed bar and dining space, perfect for casual dinners.
