One8 Commune marks Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli’s entry into hospitality development. The restaurant, which opened in November, embodies Kohli’s polished, elevated persona through a unique dining experience. The 5,817-square-foot design by SAAZ Design combines urban sophistication with a Bohemian aesthetic, creating a distinctive dining destination while embracing a grounded, cosmopolitan vibe.
Creating a series of zones that offer unique experiences overcame the boxy nature of the site. From a quick drink at the bar to intimate dinners or open-air seating, each zone’s thoughtful design enhances flexibility and fosters connection. A central column, initially a constraint, was reimagined as a focal point, enriching the flow and grounding the open layout. An elevated bar and DJ area serves as the social heart of the restaurant, while residential-scale decor and accents invite guests to linger.
Earthy hues with flamingo red and pink add warmth while sustainable materials like cotton, bamboo and textured concrete introduce a natural, eco-conscious dimension to the space.
