Amaya Modern Mexican opened its doors at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Amaya was created by Clique Hospitality for Gen3 Hospitality. The new restaurant takes a Las Vegas spin on the Mexican coast.

Helmed by Michelin-starred Chef Jason McLeod, guests explore a menu of citrusy ceviches and aged tequilas while enjoying live performances and DJs inside a space designed to evoke the lush, tropical elegance of the Yucatán Peninsula.

The restaurant’s design, crafted by Peter Max Bowden and the team at Petermax Co., mirrors the energy of the cuisine. Low, romantic lighting and lush, tree-canopied spaces create a biophilic environment.

To build on the natural elements of the space, a wooden wall installation connects the 7,180-square-foot restaurant, bar and lounge, mimicking the effect of raked sand. An oversized chandelier sits at the center of the dining room. This focal point invokes soft lighting through thousands of shells.

The overall effect of the design is both calming and extravagant. Combining the thrill of Las Vegas with the soul of modern Mexican cuisine.
