A statement piece mural, which is another photo-friendly marketing element in restaurants, was worth the splurge for 32% of survey respondents.

Coming in a distant third with 21% of survey respondents? Localized elements in national chains.

Finally, 12% of survey respondents had their own ideas of what is worth splurging on in restaurant design. These included: lighting, tables that don’t wobble, equipment that saves on labor costs, employee lockers, great bar chairs and comfortable guest seating.
