Gigi's Cupcakes has opened a corporate training center and test kitchen in the Nashville, Tenn., area.
The chain will use the facility to test the popularity of new menu items under consideration. These include a line of breakfast offerings, such as quiche, muffins and cinnamon rolls.
The facility will also sell ice cream with three Gigi's cupcake favors, red velvet, midnight magic and wedding cake. Customers will also be able to order from a full-service coffee bar.
The opening of the test kitchen/training center comes on the heels of Gigi's unveiling a new prototype store that features a refrigerated bakery case, electronic menu boards and increased seating.
Founded in 2008, Gigi's has nearly 100 locations in 23 states.
