Houston-based Salata, which bills itself as "the next generation salad bar", has opened its second Chicago-area location.

The store is located in Schaumberg, Ill., and is owned an operated by Dan Campbell, who also owns the other Chicago-area Salata.

The store measures 2,555 square feet and features all-natural building materials, including dark mango-stained wood panels, subway tile, stone countertop and glass features. It also has a "tea tap" system that delivers the chain's signature teas and lemonades.

This is the 52nd Salata location nationwide. The chain expects to open another 40 locations by the end of 2016.
