A new franchise agreement will bring 10 Pepper Lunch restaurants to the Hawaiian Islands. The chain plans to open its first Hawaii location in late 2025 followed by two more in 2026.

“Our passion for Pepper Lunch stems from a memorable meal we experienced in Kyoto,” says Sean Uezu, co-owner of NIKU LLC, the chain’s franchisee. “The sizzling iron plate, fresh ingredients, and vibrant sights and sounds captivated us instantly. We can’t wait to offer that same energizing dining experience to both residents and visitors across the 50th State.”

Established in 1994, Pepper Lunch is a teppanyaki-style concept with 500 locations in 17 countries. Pepper Lunch has been operational in the U.S. since 2023.
