Building on its growth in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida, Greek from Greece (GFG) Bakery-Café plans to open its first Pennsylvania location in Kennett Square. The expansion follows a busy month for the restaurant chain, which included the acquisition and rebranding of the concept’s largest competitor in Manhattan, a 31-unit expansion across Long Island, N.Y., and Stamford, Conn., and the opening of its first Florida location in Tampa.

The Kennett Square restaurant will be operated by Chris and Maria Kotanidis. The pair are successful entrepreneurs with 30 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

The first GFG Bakery-Café opened in 2017 in New York. This expansion will increase GFG Bakery-Café’s footprint to more than 40 stores. With more deals in the pipeline, GFG projects over 100 units will either be open or in progress by the end of the year.
