Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opened 31 new restaurants in the first half of 2018 and achieved 14.5 percent system-wide sales growth year over year. An additional 20 new restaurants are slated to open by year’s end.
Freddy’s opened three new corporate-owned locations in 2018, with three more expected to open by year’s end. Most notably, the chain debuted its newest restaurant prototype at the opening of its corporate restaurant in Collinsville, Ill., this year.
The new prototype design improves efficiency and features a footprint 400-square-feet smaller than the brand’s traditional locations. The company has already opened several additional units with the new prototype.
Additionally, Freddy’s has focused on non-traditional development in 2018, with openings at Wichita State University and Oklahoma State University slated for the fall semester of 2018.
"Our innovative new prototype and non-traditional locations are a direct reflection of our commitment to continually investing in our brand and offering improved options to both new and existing franchisees. We're always looking for ways to streamline operations, help our operators save money and make Freddy's more accessible to those looking to franchise with a leading restaurant concept," says Scott Redler, co-founder and chief operating officer.
