Saksey’s Cocktail Lounge, owned by Dan Gilbert and operated by 7OH2 Hospitality, pays homage to the Detroit-born billionaire’s late father, Nick Gilbert. The new cocktail lounge is named after the Detroit, Mich. bar owned and operated by Nick Gilbert in the 1970s. Saksey’s will be located in the lower level of Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop and is slated to open in Spring 2024.

Concepted by Josh Lang of 70H2 Hospitality and designed by Jennifer Gilbert of Detroit-based Pophouse, Saksey aims to craft immersive experiences for guests including live performances and tableside mixology in an intimate and nostalgic environment.

The cozy, contemporary bar transports guests back in time by welcoming them through a bespoke alleyway entrance. Lacquered woods, adventurous patterns and a refined lighting design create an intimate environment in the dining area and bar, which only has eight tables and 55 seats.

"Saksey’s is designed to provide an experience that connects people,” Lang says. “I want guests to come in, try a little of everything on the menu, sit back and spend time with the people they love. Intimacy is a product of those you share it with. This room is built for intimate moments.”
