Chicago’s classic French-Vietnamese restaurant Le Colonial opened its latest outpost in Delray Beach, Fla. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant and lounge draws inspiration from the original restaurant’s design, conjuring the glamour and intrigue of 1920’s Saigon. Owners Rick Wahlstedt and Joe King tapped longtime collaborator Mark Knauer of Knauer Inc. to design the space. The result is an oasis that blends Vietnamese collectibles, vintage materials and artifacts with interesting modern surfaces, fabulous French finds and a pastel color palette that evokes the tropics.
