In a survey fielded in October, 36% of readers of restaurant development + design magazine reported moderate growth in their companies in 2025. One-third (33%) of survey respondents said business was flat or stable compared to 2024.
Just 20% of rd+d readers said that they had seen a decline in business in 2025. However, a smaller number — just 11% — said they had seen strong growth in their business this year.
Earlier this year, the National Restaurant Association forecast that the U.S. economy overall was projected to expand by 2% in 2025.
