Heading into winter 2021, 38.66% of rd+d readers surveyed said ongoing supply chain challenges and increased construction costs were their top business concerns in a survey fielded in August.
The second most pressing business concern for winter 2021, was worry over resurging COVID-19 cases causing closures and other regulations, as cited by 31.23% of surveyed readers.
Labor and staffing concerns were another top business concern for winter 2021 for 28.25% of rd+d readers.
rd+d launched a yearlong research project that will periodically survey qualified subscribers on the state of restaurant development and design. Each issue in 2021 will feature new data collected from very recent reader surveys.
