Mississippi-based McAlister’s Deli plans to open 10 new stores, thanks to two new franchise agreements.
The chain signed a five-unit deal for the Phoenix area with the new franchisee team of Jyoti Madhura, Preet Saini and Sanjiv Bhagat. The team currently owns and operates several restaurant concepts and service brands in Las Vegas, Phoenix and in the state of California. The agreement will focus on developing stores in the cities of Phoenix, Tempe, Chandler and Gilbert. Currently, McAlister’s operates just two stores in this market.
Another five-store deal focuses on the Chicago area, specifically the communities of Lake Villa, Lake Forest, Northbrook, Wheeling and Arlington Heights. The agreement is with new franchisees Syam and Geeta Thotakura, who will open the stores during the next four years. The Thotakuras currently operate six Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Chicago market.
