As the chain gets ready to accelerate its domestic and international growth efforts, Saladworks is preparing a new restaurant design that will include an updated logo. The fresh made salad concept’s new prototype will measure 2,000 square feet, smaller than previous iterations.
To appeal to a variety of customers, Saladworks teamed with Odom Architects to develop a design that will include such features as Wi-Fi bars, communal tables and comfort seating. The store’s new menu boards and graphics will reflect Saladworks’ commitment to chopping fresh ingredients daily.
“We analyzed customer data and saw that the number of dine-in versus takeout orders was down, so we wanted to give the restaurants a warmer and more welcoming atmosphere,” said Paul Steck, Saladworks president and CEO. “To encourage our guests to relax and enjoy themselves in the restaurants, we decided to replace the bright secondary colors with an organic, earthy influence and inviting palate including natural colors and warmer tones.”
The company hired Odom Architects, P.C. of Mobile, Ala. to complete the new design. Owner Angie Odom, who has expansive experience in franchise restaurant store design, helped the Saladworks team realize the vision they had for the refreshed look.
In 2016, Saladworks plans to remodel 5 existing stores and build 11 new stores with the updated design. Remodels will take place on an at-will basis by franchisees that are ready and willing to make the investment in their location. The first new store design was unveiled on February 17, 2016 in Newtown, Pa. Saladworks operates 101 locations in 14 states.
