Multi-concept operator Fat Brands, the parent company of 18 restaurant brands including Smokey Bones and Twin Peaks has decided to close one concept’s location in favor of the other. Twin Peaks is renovating a former Smokey Bones location in Lakeland, Fla., and is expected to open later this year.

The sports bar chain tapped longtime partner DP3 Architects for the project, which involves the renovation of the existing 7,082-square-foot Smokey Bones restaurant, accompanied by an 884-square-foot addition and raised dining room extension.

The renovation will encompass all aspects of the facility. This includes new exterior finishes, highlighted by the relocation of the front entrance to enhance visibility and accessibility, and the addition of a distinctive lodge-inspired entry tower. Inside, guests can expect an optimized layout featuring a second bar, updated furniture, wall treatments, and custom ceiling installations.
