Sisters and partners Amy and Clodagh Lawless of The Gage and Acanto in Chicago have opened the doors to their highly anticipated restaurant project, The Dearborn, catering to preshow revelers, cocktail seekers and power lunch crowds alike. The massive 8,000-square-foot urban American tavern at the Block 37 complex in the office-friendly Loop district offers upscale, seasonal cuisine with a Midwestern twist by Executive Chef Aaron Cuschieri, who has clocked time at the legendary Alinea, among other notable Chicago restaurants.

He lined the front dining room with nearly an entire wall of storefront-style windows for a first-row seat to the city in motion. With plush booth seating and tabletop options both high and low, the design features a unique collection of materials, dropped lighting fixtures, art and craftsmanship that’s both stylish and timeless. A large bar is located in the central dining space and features impressive sky-high shelves that showcase an impressive selection of the restaurant’s wine and spirits. The Dearborn’s 300-square-foot private dining room, featuring brass chandeliers hanging from a barrel-vault ceiling, seats up to 27.
