Crepe Shibuya introduced an interactive, experience-driven dessert concept in Milpitas, Calif.
Designed by Mindful Design Consulting, the space is a destination where entertainment and design come together to create a memorable customer experience.
The concept draws inspiration from Japanese design principles to highlight the menu’s Japanese offerings of sweet and savory crepes and beverages.
A neutral base palette is layered with warm accents of red and orange, colors associated with Japanese culture, while natural materials such as wood and stone create depth and texture throughout the space.
A central feature of this dessert destination is the integration of Gashapon machines, which are Japanese capsule toy vending machines that dispense small, collectible figures or trinkets hidden inside plastic balls. These machines infuse the environment with a sense of play and discovery. This interactive zone serves as a captivating secondary attraction, inviting guests to explore and find surprises. Anchored by a vibrant selfie wall and striking visual installations, the design encourages natural social sharing, transforming every visitor into an authentic representative for the brand.
