Following a six-week renovation, Charleston's upscale Southern restaurant Magnolias reopened in February sporting a fresh, new look.
The renovation was completed in advance of the restaurant's 25th anniversary in 2015 to offer guests an enhanced experience complemented by the original Southern charm for which the Charleston dining institution is known.
"As the menu evolves with time, it is important to us to also adjust the design and atmosphere, providing the best dining experience for our guests," says Magnolias owner TJ Parsell. "The space has been updated with a sophisticated look, but guests will still feel like they are in their favorite spot for world-class Southern cuisine."
Reimagined by the firm that created its original design, The Johnson Studio in Atlanta, Magnolias' environment "captures Charleston's rich culture, respecting the spirit and history of one of the city's most beloved restaurants," according to the company.
As guests enter, they are greeted by a classic black tile floor, warm woods, seating upholstered in baby blue, and a retouched bar and host area. The dining room exudes elegance and features a paneled and antique-mirrored wall with a cozy banquette and updated sconces that provide a warm glow.
